Cranberry sauce
Sauce without a can.
Ingredients
- Red zinfandel wine or table red - 2 cups
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Orange, juice and rind sliced - 1
- Cloves - 6 whole
- Ginger, peeled and sliced - 1 small
- Cranberries - 12 oz
Directions
Combine the first five ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Strain off the solids, return to the pan and add the cranberries. Cook on high for 10 minutes, until the berries pop. Reduce heat to low, simmer for 30 minutes, until thick. Pour into a bowl to cool.
